Accounting professionals claim there is a deficiency of individuals with the appropriate competencies to enter the accounting workforce (Pasewark, 2021; Richardson, 2020; Sandifer, 2018; Thomson, 2017). Also, recent trends indicate a need to increase the number of qualified accounting professionals who can pass the Certified Public Accounting Exam (CPA Exam) and enter the public accounting workforce (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants [AICPA], 2021a; Dawkins, 2023). This article examines recent literature on corporate boards and the interplay between director gender and CEO turnover and how it affects firm performance after CEO turnover. The primary focus is board gender diversity and CEO job embeddedness in entrepreneurial firms. This article discusses gender diversity and the frequency of CEO turnover. This paper finds that board gender diversity is associated with lower CEO involuntary turnovers and better overall performance in entrepreneurial firms. Japanese Society and Culture

This study aims to identify the association between public service motivation (PSM), job satisfaction, and other factors using ordinary least squares and quantile regression analyses. The following findings were clarified by analysing survey data from approximately 1,600 special ward employees. Job satisfaction, affective organisational commitment, and job performance are positively associated with PSM. Second, job stress and PSM are negatively associated with PSM. Third, there is a stable positive association between affective organisational commitment and PSM regardless of whether affective organisational commitment is high or low. Revisiting The Nexus Between Job Insecurity And Employee Task Performance: Examining The Influence Of Self-Efficacy And Emotional Intelligence In A Mediation–Moderation Model, Adewale Adekiya, Umar Usman

The objective of this study was to examine the relationship between perceived job insecurity and employee task performance. In addition, the moderating influence of emotional intelligence and mediating influence of self-efficacy was examined in this relationship. Through the multi-stage sampling technique, a total of 385 employees were proportionately selected from a cluster that represents three selected Nigerian deposit money banks. Furthermore, a close-ended and structured questionnaire was utilized in a descriptive cross-sectional research design to elicit responses from these employees. During the needs assessment process three areas of opportunity were discussed for possible intervention at the Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) Division of Child Welfare Services:

  1. hiring of new workers,
  2. promotion decisions for lead worker and supervisor positions, and

Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) is a state-led, county-administered child welfare system. Ohio’s 83 single-county agencies and two multi-county agencies are responsible for the delivery of child protective services and ongoing case management in Ohio’s 88 counties. In 2017, ODJFS had an annual turnover rate of about 27%. They applied to be a Quality Improvement Center for Workforce Development (QIC-WD) site with the goal of strengthening their child welfare workforce.

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), through the Office of Families and Children (OFC), is responsible for Ohio’s state-supervised, county-administered child welfare system. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) started working with the QIC-WD in October 2017 to better understand its turnover problem. Eight counties volunteered to be part of the entire study. They participated in a thorough needs assessment process which led to creation of Coach Ohio, a multi-level blend of two interventions that addressed key needs across the counties regarding work-related traumatic stress and supportive supervision. The Quality Improvement Center for Workforce Development (QIC-WD) conducted a comprehensive needs assessment with nine participating Ohio counties in partnership with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS). The assessment revealed that organizational culture and climate across counties was above average in rigidity and resistance, and below average in engagement.
