Excel is used to build a simulation of the TI BAII-Plus financial calculator to illustrate the N, I/Y, PV, PMT, and FV inputs. Unlike other financial calculator simulators, this template also displays the corresponding Excel functions to aid in transitioning the student to using Excel for financial analysis.

Time value of money calculations are illustrated through developing a timeline with cash flow graphics in Excel. The cash flow graphics can be used in the live or virtual classroom and as a resource for students outside of the classroom. Further, the graphic is readily adjustable to different scenarios making it useful for multiple time value of money topics.

This paper re-works the traditional formula for pricing a bond with a present value annuity and a single discounted cash flow into a "one-step' bond pricing formula. The new derivation allows for a clear presentation of the relationship between a bond's coupon yield and its yield to maturity and a quick means for pricing a bond.

Which journal articles have had the most impact on finance research? Which journals dominated finance research in the 1990s? We answer these and similar questions using a comprehensive sample of journals, an extensive time period, and a new ranking method that avoids problems inherent in the existing literature. Among our findings: six of the 10 articles most highly cited by finance journals were published in econometrics or economics journals; Journal of Finance has the most citations, but it accounts for only one of the top 10 articles; and Journal of Financial Economics has the highest impact per article.

Real estate, in the early twentieth century, was known to be one of the most stable and dependable revenue producing assets in the portfolios of investing institutions. However, in 1925, there began a slow rise in the rate of foreclosures of mortgage loans. The stock market collapse cam in 1929 and then the Depression. Savings aggregating millions of dollars annually have been made possible.by fundamental improvements of a Government-wide nature and the modernization and streamlining of accounting methods and systems of individual departments and agencies. The impetus for instituting these changes in fiscal procedures was provided in the recommendations of the Hoover Commission as submitted to Congress February 15, 1949.
