This study is a comprehensive analysis of the black hair care industry and the changes within it as a result of an increase in consumers with “natural hair,” that is, those embracing their natural hair texture as opposed to manipulating it permanently by chemical means. Rapid changes in technology have changed the way consumers engage with product offerings and lowered barriers to entry for new brands.
