Fallstudie L'Oréal - Vendor Managed Inventory Zwischen L’Oréal Und ”Dm Drogerie-Markt“, Enrico Senger, Hubert Oesterle

Hubert Oesterle

Fallstudie Brose Fahrzeugtechnik Gmbh & Co. Kg - Verbesserung Des Anfrageprozesses Im Einkauf Der Brose Fahrzeugtechnik Gmbh & Co. Kg, Enrico Senger, Hubert Oesterle

Hubert Oesterle

Manuelle Erfassungen konventioneller Angebote entfallen.

Fallstudie Röhm - Konsignationslager Zwischen Dem Degussa Geschäftsbereich Röhm Und Der Basf Coatings Ag, Enrico Senger, Hubert Oesterle

Hubert Oesterle

Fallstudie Heraeus Kulzer Gmbh & Co. Kg - Integriertes Customer Relationship Management Bei Heraeus Kulzer Gmbh & Co. Kg, Enrico Senger, Hubert Oesterle

Hubert Oesterle

A Renewable-Resource Approach To Database Valuation, Xavier Dreze, Andre Bonfrer Oct 2003

A Renewable-Resource Approach To Database Valuation, Xavier Dreze, Andre Bonfrer

Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business

We demonstrate in this paper that firms should view customers in a database as a renewable resource when valuating them. Indeed, customer names flow in and out of the firm’s databases, and the goal of the firm is to optimize the overall customer acquisition/cultivation/attrition process. The renewable resource approach to the problem of maximizing the profits generated by a flow of customer names is more appropriate than the traditional Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) approach. We show that CLV underestimates the true value of names (by more than 400% in some cases) and leads to sub-optimal customer relationship management and acquisition …

The Impact Of The Costs Of Subscription On Measured Ipo Returns: The Case Of Asia, Joseph K.W. Fung, Louis T. W. Cheng, Kam C. Chan Sep 2003

The Impact Of The Costs Of Subscription On Measured Ipo Returns: The Case Of Asia, Joseph K.W. Fung, Louis T. W. Cheng, Kam C. Chan

GFCB Working Paper Series

Asian initial public offerings (IPOs) require investors to pay subscription funds up-front upon submission of applications, and these funds are locked-up for one to three weeks without interest. Hence, the IPO process entails an explicit financing cost (opportunity cost) whether investors borrow funds or use their own funds to apply for IPO shares. The IPO subscription costs are not trivial, especially in a high interest rate environment or when an IPO is highly oversubscribed. These costs should be considered in any comparison of IPO returns across countries.

Design And Evaluation Of A List Gathering Tool In A Web-Based Collaborative Environment, Yuanqiong Wang

Dissertations

This research focuses on how to build a "list" structure to combine individual items of information into some sort of structure that converts the individual items of information into a structure of knowledge relative to the problem. Software was designed to provide relationships among and comparisons of the contributions in a "list" structure, so that individual members of a group process will be able to understand the contributions of information made by the group as a whole.

A List Gathering Tool was designed and implemented, which is one component in a Web-based Social Decision Support System (SDSS) Toolkit. Then, a …

It Competency And Firm Performance: Is Organizational Learning A Missing Link?, Michael J. Tippins, Ravipreet S. Sohi

Department of Marketing: Faculty Publications

Many companies have developed strategies that include investing heavily in information technology (IT) in order to enhance their performance. Yet, this investment pays off for some companies but not others. This study proposes that organization teaming plays a significant role in determining the outcomes of IT. Drawing from resource theory and IT literature, the authors develop the concept of IT competency. Using structural equations modeling with data collected from managers in 271 manufacturing firms, they show that organizational learning plays a significant role in mediating the effects of IT competency on firm performance.

Simulation As A Tool For Evaluating Strategic Policies For Flexible Supply Chain Systems, Janice L. Forrester, Wayne W. Wakeland Jul 2003

Simulation As A Tool For Evaluating Strategic Policies For Flexible Supply Chain Systems, Janice L. Forrester, Wayne W. Wakeland

Systems Science Faculty Publications and Presentations

The emergence of flexible supply chain systems (FSC) has sparked increased interest in real-time planning, scheduling, and logistics--with particular consideration for strategic implications and overall cost control. Important aspects of an FSC include forecasting, production, materials handling, transportation, and distribution center inventory. There exists a variety of software applications for addressing tactical issues, such as adaptive scheduling, and short term forecasting. However, these programs typically do not permit the user to assess the strategic implications of different policies for flexing capacity and making alternative commitments to manufacturing plants. Recently there has been increased interest in the use of simulation models …

Modeling Product Development As A System Design Game, C. Jason Woodard Jun 2003

Modeling Product Development As A System Design Game, C. Jason Woodard

Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems

A system design game is a model of a situation in which agents’ actions determine the structure of a system, which in turn affects the system’s value and the share of value that each agent may capture through bargaining or market competition. This paper describes a class of games in which agents design interdependent products, for example software programs, which may be complements or substitutes for each other. These relationships are epresented by an object called a design structure network (DSN). Depending on the modeler’s choice of allocation rules, agents may benefit from owning critical nodes in the DSN, corresponding …
