Artificial intelligence (AI) enables continuous monitoring of patients’ health, thus improving the quality of their health care. However, prior studies suggest that individuals resist such innovative technology. In contrast to prior studies that investigate individuals’ decisions for themselves, we focus on family members’ rejection of AI monitoring, as family members play a significant role in health care decisions. Our research investigates competing effects of emotions toward the rejection of AI monitoring for health care. The Impact Of Physician Job Satisfaction On The Sustained Competitive Advantage Of Health Care Organizations, Olena Mazurenko, Stephen J. O’Connor

This paper employs the resource-based theory of the firm to explain the influence of human resources on the sustained competitive advantage of an organization. Based on previous conceptual and empirical literature, we posit that the presence of a high potential employee workforce, coupled with adequate human resource management policies, can result in improved profit generating potential. We developed a conceptual framework with several propositions that illustrate the associations between job satisfaction and organizational productivity. We apply this concept in the health care field, suggesting that the satisfaction of physicians’ needs leads to greater organizational productivity and sustained competitive advantage.

The purpose of this research was to determine what factors, if any, led to the development of a preferred provider organization and if these factors were related to sponsorship. A survey instrument was developed and mailed to a random sampling of 90 existing preferred provider organizations' executive directors for their completion. A Two-Factor Contingency Table Analysis was compiled. Chi-square, and the Contingency factor, C, were computed and tested at the .05 level of significance.
