A warning against some dangers, tendencies that can erode the quality and meaning of education. First, the danger of undue emphasis on science and technology. A second danger is in the rapidly growing impersonalism of higher education. A third is the danger of missing the real, though more intangible point - the development of taste, of judgment, of sensitivity. It is not enough to be free.
