The Value Of Literature In Lutheran Catechetics, David Lange Jun 1965

The Value Of Literature In Lutheran Catechetics, David Lange

Master of Sacred Theology Thesis

The purpose of this paper, then, is to investigate the nature, functions, and objectives of literature; to explore and delineate its congruencies with and contradictions of the nature, functions, and objectives of Lutheran catechetics; and finally to assess its value for the catechetical enterprise and determine whether it warrants the construction of a literature-oriented program of catechetics within The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod.

Congregational Renewal Through Adult Education, Lester Nilson May 1965

Congregational Renewal Through Adult Education, Lester Nilson

Master of Sacred Theology Thesis

The problem expressed in the title of this thesis is not a new one. Ever since man rejected fellowship with God the need for renewal has been a concern of God's people. The Church And The Lodge Problem, Theodore Nickel

Concordia Theological Monthly

The racial crisis, the rising rate of alcoholism, declining standards of public and private morality, deterioration of family life-for these and a thousand other problems the church has been urged to accept at least partial responsibility. The church has frequently forgotten to offer the message of God's forgiveness to itself. The …

New Thinking In Christian Education, Randolph Crump Miller Feb 1965

New Thinking In Christian Education, Randolph Crump Miller

Concordia Theological Monthly

From where I sit, I see many critical issues in Christian education. For as a professor at Yale, I see all the winds of the future that blow through our hallowed halls. As editor of Religious Education, I know what is going to be published in the next six months by Christians and Jews. As a director of Christian education in a local congregation, I am aware of what is actually going on among the faithful. This perspective governs much of what I shall say.
