Political Competition, Relative Deprivation, And Perceived Threat: A Research Note On Anti- Christian Violence In India, Chad Bauman, Tamara Leech
Political Competition, Relative Deprivation, And Perceived Threat: A Research Note On Anti- Christian Violence In India, Chad Bauman, Tamara Leech
Department of Public Health Scholarship and Creative Works
A preliminary subnational statistical analysis of violence against Christians in contemporary India, this article suggests that whereas the data provide very little support for simple, demographic explanations of this violence, they do more robustly support theories emphasizing the relative status of ethnic and religious minorities (vis-à-vis majorities) and the perception, among Hindus, that Christians (and other minorities) represent a threat to their numerical, political and economic strength.

Doctrine After Foundationalism, Robert Lewis Fossett
Doctrine After Foundationalism, Robert Lewis Fossett
Doctor of Philosophy Dissertation
Fossett, Robert, L. “Doctrine After Foundationalism.” Ph.D. diss., Concordia Seminary, 2011. 250 pp.
This essay argues for an account of Christian doctrine that will bring to light the lingering entrenchment of foundationalism within the context of religious discourse and will show this entrenchment for what it is: a confusion inherited from the Enlightenment (and ultimately from Plato). In its place I offer an account of doctrine that is more explicitly Christological than what is currently being offered in the modern discussion on doctrine and that at the same time, moves the conversation past the assumptions of foundationalism. A properly Christian …
Relational Leadership: A Study Of Organizational Health And Clergy Within The Wesleyan Church, Brian Voyght Bradford
Relational Leadership: A Study Of Organizational Health And Clergy Within The Wesleyan Church, Brian Voyght Bradford
ATS Dissertations
In many large churches (over one thousand in weekend worship attendance) today, a vast relational disconnect exists between senior pastors and pastoral staff team members. As a result, many staff pastors feel unsatisfied in their team roles and relationships as well as feeling devalued as leader. This relational deficiency frequently results in a lack of communication, trust, and belief in and with the senior leader. The staff pastor’s productivity decreases and the church ceases to be what God designed it to be—a place of relational and social connection.
The purpose of this study was to determine characteristics of relational leadership …
Everyman, A Modern Adaptation (Or, Number's Down), Merrick Robison
Everyman, A Modern Adaptation (Or, Number's Down), Merrick Robison
Honors Program Projects
Everyman is the most well known morality play that came out of the turn of the 16th century. Innumerable amounts of people have seen it in performance, both in the 1500s and modern day, since its revivals at the turn of the 20th century. It is a common choice of performance both on the professional and college level, and offers many opportunities for adaptation and modernization. The purpose for the project is to research the production and literary history of Everyman in order to write, produce, direct and perform in a modern adaptation of the morality play so it may …

Porn, Popery, Mahometanism, And The Rise Of The Novel: Responses To The London Earthquakes Of 1750, Samara Anne Cahill
Religion in the Age of Enlightenment
In February and March of 1750, two earthquakes hit London, provoking panic in the population and generating a great deal of providentialist rhetoric from religious authorities and selfproclaimed prophets alike. Public figures used the earthquakes as didactic opportunities to structure domestic identity and national security along gridlines of reason, faith, and national guilt. Such representations indicate not only that religious identity and faith remained important to Britons throughout the eighteenth century but also that, although Britons used Christian belief to structure their national identity, they were by no means convinced of the superiority of actual Christian behavior compared to that …
