The 1919 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at Sandy Plains Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. The introductory sermon was delivered by W. R. Beach. The Baptist Churches of Gaston County decided to form the Gaston County Association. Cherryville, Shady Grove, Bessemer City, and Mt. Zion Churches were granted permission to join the Gaston County Association.
