A Temple Framework Of The Atonement, Adam J. Johnson
A Temple Framework Of The Atonement, Adam J. Johnson
Adam J. Johnson
This article builds on G. K. Beale's work on the temple, exploring the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in relation to the biblical theology of the temple. It explores the work of Christ as the one who fulfilled the role of the temple both in terms of its prophesied destruction and in terms of its rebuilding and the culmination of its purpose as the presence of God in the midst of his holy people. In conclusion, the article considers some of the practical ramifications of seeing Christ's work from this particular vantage-point.
Wisdom Christology: How Jesus Becomes God's Wisdom For Us, Daniel J. Ebert
Wisdom Christology: How Jesus Becomes God's Wisdom For Us, Daniel J. Ebert
Faculty Books
The Explorations in Biblical Theology series addresses the need for quality literature that attracts believing readers to good theology and builds there up in their faith. Each title in the series combines solid content with accessibility and readability-a valuable addition to the library of any college student, thoughtful lay reader, seminarian, or pastor.
What is true wisdom? While contemporary culture locates it in self-absorption, the first-century apostles revealed how wisdom is located supremely in Jesus Christ. Daniel Ebert explains how Old Testament wisdom motifs are not only appropriated in New Testament Christology but also far surpassed in God's Son.

Every Tribe And Tongue: A Biblical Vision For Language In Society, Michael Pasquale, Nathan Bierma
Alumni Book Gallery
Every Tribe and Tongue offers a way, first, to rediscover biblical stories and principles that relate to questions about immigration and societal multilingualism, and, second, to outline possible ways to guide thoughtful engagement in the discourse of the "public square" based on the biblical witness. We will try to show that, far from being an afterthought in the Bible, the call to love our neighbors and to gather people of every nation together in the worship of God is at the very core of the gospel message.
Two powerful passions animate this book from beginning to end. First, this work …

Christ Alone: An Evangelical Response To Rob Bell's "Love Wins", Michael E. Wittmer
Alumni Book Gallery
In this highly readable and wonderfully engaging response to Rob Bell's New York Times best seller Love Wins, Michael Wittmer examines Bell's claims about "heaven, hell, and the fate of every person who ever lived" in the light of the Bible and historic Christian doctrine. Wittmer writes in the introduction, "I respect Rob Bell. He wrote Love Wins to start a dialogue about the most important issues of our faith, and Christ Alone is my attempt as an evangelical to join that conversation." Study materials are available at the publisher's and author's websites.
