Hope, written at Camp Beaver, Kentucky, to relatives and friends in Kentucky after his capture at Gladesville, Virginia by Union forces. He details his capture, remarks on his courteous treatment by officers of the 10th Kentucky Cavalry, and asks that some changes of clothes be sent to him.
