Anderson’s correspondence with Meredith pertains to a debt owed by Anderson since 1790. Anderson was a Tennessee Senator and first Comptroller of the Treasury.

Barbee distillers. Volkerding pines for home and describes the scenery, hotels, amusements and rail travel in the western United States.
