The 1999 Fall meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association met at Zoar Baptist Church and Bethel Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. The Second Spring Session was held at Christopher Road Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. The minutes are dedicated to the memory of Rev. C.O. Greene and Rev. Glenn Griffin Short. The Association includes their incorporation as a non-profit corporation. Gardner-Webb's School of Divinity is noted to be receiving accreditation from the Association of Theological Schools in November.

The Shoah or Holocaust, defined as the vicious, prolonged and deadly attack on the Jewish people and their way of life in Nazi-dominated Europe, has cast a long and dismal shadow over the latter two-thirds on this century. As we grapple with the inadequacies of so many people in virtually every walk of life and every religious or secular community to stand up to the Nazi threat, we are grateful for heroic examples of those who did act with courage and resolution. "Through The Eye Of A Needle": The Role Of Pietistic And Mystical Thought Among The Anglican Elite In The Eighteenth Century Lowcountry South, Samuel C. Smith

This dissertation examines the transmission and eventual manifestation of Christian pietistic and mystical thought into the Colonial and Revolutionary lowcountry South. The facilitators of this transmission include the Continental Pietists, who were themselves heavily influenced by the mystics, and British Evangelicals such as John Wesley and George Whitefield, who, even in their public denials of mysticism, nevertheless demonstrated its strong influence in their ministries. Mystical and pietistic expressions impacted the religious, social, and political life of the lowcountry more than has been previously recognized.
