On October 21, 2019, in response to a request from the City of San Antonio (COSA) Transportation and Capital Improvements (TCI), The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Center for Archaeological Research (CAR) conducted archaeological monitoring of geotechnical boring associated with the Cenotaph Relocation project in the Alamo Plaza complex in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. The boring samples will be used by Terracon Consultants, Inc. (Terracon) to evaluate the soil bearing pressure, the active soil load, the location of the groundwater table, and the soil characteristics. The archaeological work consisted of monitoring CPS-related excavation activities associated with the installation of 398 m (1,305 linear ft.) of gas line on East Locust Street. The project involved rehabilitating 3,690 linear feet of existing sewer line within the Silverhorn Golf Club, which is within the Walker Ranch National Register District. The majority of the proposed undertaking was conducted by non-invasive methods (i.e., cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP)); however, point repairs involving excavations were conducted in areas where broken pipe was encountered. AECOM Technical Services, Inc. (AECOM) conducted an intensive archaeological survey for the proposed San Antonio Water System (SAWS) W-1 Leon Creek Sewer Main Improvement Project (project). Initially, the project spanned approximately 3.9-miles from State Highway 151 to United States Highway 90, in west San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. In 2017, the project alignment was split into 2 segments: Segment 1 (northern half) and Segment 2 (southern half). Segment 2 of the alignment was re-evaluated in 2018, which resulted in approximately 1.1-miles of alignment which was not previously surveyed. Specific dates of field survey were July 18–22, 2016 (Phase 1 of survey), December 11–13, 2017 (Phase 2 of survey, geophysical investigation), and January 15, 2018–February 1, 2018 (Phase 2 of survey). (Pape-Dawson) monitored for cultural resources during the planting of new trees within portions of the existing Olmos Basin Golf Course, located west of the intersection of Basse Road and US 281, in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. The trees were placed randomly throughout the golf course along with new, connecting irrigation lines. Excavations for the trees averaged 3.6 feet (ft) (1.1 meters2 [m2]) in diameter and 1.6 ft (0.5 m) deep.
