There is exclusive correspondence with many literary personalities including Malcolm Cowley, Josephine Herbst, James Farrell, Morley Callaghan, Stefan Zweig, Sholem Asch, Doris Lessing, Hart Crane, Hermynia Zur Mühlen, John Dos Passos, and Ford Madox Ford. There is also information pertaining to his work with the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and his service in the US Army Corps during World War II.
