He writes of working at his uncle Taylor Neal's store in Auburn, Kentucky, his family, his school attendance and leisure activities, and his employment in Detroit Michigan. He also refers to his marriage and the birth of his daughter. Includes an annotated and illustrated typescript of the diary prepared by a descendant.

Finding aid and full text of post-World War II pen pal letters and selected images from ciphering book of Collins Lanier from Manuscripts Collection 488. Collection consists chiefly of letters written to Deanna June (Linville) Lanier by friends and her family, particularly her mother Lena (Harris) Linville. Includes some interesting pen pal letters with a German child, 1948 to 1950. Includes genealogical material about the Lanier and Linville families. Also includes early Warren County, Kentucky material from brothers, Byrd Lanier and Collins Lanier, including a little correspondence, bills and notes, receipts, and property records.

Her parents, known and “Ma Tucker” and “Pa Tucker,” operated boardinghouses located on College Street. Also includes two family photographs.

Brownfield’s artistic penmanship techniques are displayed in a 1909 resolution of the Kentucky State Medical Association, a 1918 Bowling Green, Kentucky, DAR chapter invitation to William Howard Taft, a 1924 certificate from the Littleford School,Cincinnati, Ohio, and an undated letter to a friend. Brownfield was head of the Penmanship Department, Bowling Green Business University, Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Transcripts, notes, and cassette tapes for interviews conducted by Dr. Wilford Fridy with individuals who knew or knew about John Wesley Venable, Jr., the person on whom Robert Penn Warren based the character Bolton Lovehart in his novella "Circus in the Attic." Interviews mention other people and places that Warren knew in Todd County, Kentucky. Also includes tapes of Robert Penn Warren giving a speech, reading some of his work, and an interview with Warren.

Correspondence, book and article manuscripts, and research material of Alfred Leland Crabb, a native of Warren County, Kentucky and later professor at George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville, Tennessee. The topics of the manuscripts include historical fiction related to Nashville and Bowling Green, biographies of prominent Nashvillians, and articles on all levels of education. Much of the unpublished material is fiction but draws from Crabb's Plum Springs school days and his student experiences at Western Kentucky University.
