Dear Jeanne,

The favorite saying around here is: letters! when the hell do you find time to write ‘em? And that’s about the size of it.

Today we got our physicals and when I say they were thorough that’s just what I mean. We got two shots & a vaccination—I can hardly move my arms & …

Dear Jean,

We finally pulled in at 1 this aft—snowing and cold as heck here.

I was assigned to an upper so here I sit.

Tomorrow I polish brass for Police duty—just like at Supercharger.

I’ll write as soon as I can!

Love,

Bub

Here’s my address.

Dear Marge,

Two thirds thru now old girl. Are you going to come out of that place a G.I. nurse? I certainly hope not. Lord knows one is more than we can stand around here now. Not that you could ever be that ornery, it must take years to work up a disposition like that female has.

Have you heard the good news? Just girls who have come over recently will go to school next time and it will be discontinued in a month so that finishes it for the rest of us. Oh happy …

Dear Marjorie:

Was so glad to hear from you again. Gosh! we miss you Child so hurry back. From your letter it sounds as though you are coming through with flying colors. No! Margie you mustn’t let them make a G.I. out of our little girl cause we don’t like G.I. nurses, do we? That is if they become like our friend.

Boy has she been working this past week. She is always busy and has been taking my place. Say kid ain’t she wonderful.

The enlisted men had a party …

Dear Margie—

Just a note to put in [with] Gracie’s.

Have enjoyed your letters very much and hope your three weeks down there won’t be all bad. The struggle for the rules and ironies[?] used to get me too.

We missed you at the party last night—which was fun and worth while but a lot of work. We started at 2:30 and hung up the dish cloths at 11:30. I was among the cooks, and did up the french fries.

We’ll be seeing you soon. Take care of yourself at those fish ponds and things.

Love

Aldra
