Analyses the guerrilla strategy of General A.H. Nasution, architect of Indonesia's guerrilla resistance to the Dutch in the late 1940s and finds that his strategy, unlike that of Mao or Giap, involved keeping the mass of the poeple at arm's length from the guerrilla army.

Translation (with introduction and annotations) of the interrogation report of an Indonesian intelligence officer operating in Dutch-occupied Kalimantan (Borneo) during the Indonesian Revolution. The account provides information on Republican intelligence organization and its internal tensions, and indicates the practical difficulties faced by intelligence officers. The ease with which Mulyono, a Javanese, operated amongst the people of Kalimantan, however, reflects the strength of Indonesian national identity.
