This collection consists copies of nineteen editions of a Huntington, West Virginia area newsletter titled, “The Bon Ton Bullets in the Service” published between 1943 and 1945. The newsletter describes activities of area service members during World War II, and published excerpts from letters sent from servicemen, news from home, addresses, and miscellanea. Also included is an index of individuals mentioned in many of the newsletters.

This collection includes research materials used by Dr. Hill, pertaining to his research interests in medical, military, and New Jersey history, in addition to cancer and leprosy, Dr. Hill's medical specialties. It also includes copies of articles, reports, and abstracts written about Dr. Hill. Additionally, the collection has an assortment of historical pamphlets about leprosy.

Dr. Robert P. Alexander graduated from Marshall University in 1959. After graduating, Dr. Alexander was hired by Marshall University and traveled to the eastern panhandle of West Virginia to recruit prospective students. It was here he became interested in the town of Cass, WV. In 1969, Dr. Alexander completed his doctorate and became a professor of management and marketing. Dr. Alexander was also the Dean of Marshall University’s College of Business and also served sixteen years on Huntington, WV’s city council. In 1975 Dr. Alexander returned to Cass and created a living history of both the town and timbering industry …

This collection consists of a handwritten manuscript copy by Thomas J. Buffington of the plots distributed by the Savage Land Grant as resurveyed by Tupper, including plot descriptions. The manuscript is sewn as a pamphlet binding and the end pages include sums and other miscellaneous notes.

The bulk of the collection contains newspaper clippings that Mrs. Mathews collected over the years about her former students. There are also a few dozen photographs, along with wedding invitations, school pageants and programs, commencements, handwritten and typed correspondence, reunion correspondence, Greenline newsletters (a publication for Marshall University alumni), church programs, funeral/death announcements and holiday cards. Most of the photos are identified on the back.

This collection consists primarily of photographs compiled by the Huntington Parks and Recreation Department related to the Veteran's Memorial Field House in Huntington, West Virginia at the time of its demolition in 2012. Materials include photographs of events, social and sporting, at the Field House and other items including a short manuscript titled, “The Veterans Memorial Field House in Huntington, W. Va.: A History” by Stan Bumgardner as well as a program and tickets from the final game played at the Field House in 2012.
