In reading these columns one should never assume that community life was submerged by important national events such as World War II. Rather community life remained surprisingly normal and one gains the impression that the people Mrs.Rosebrook knew were determined not to allow their everyday life to be disrupted by any catastrophe, including the Dust Bowl storms. Perhaps this was their way of coping.

The eventual struggle between these two Weltanschauungen, National Socialism, and Marxism, needed to be translated into reality. The Program of the National Socialist German Worker's Party proposed in Point 22 the creation of a People's Army. After 1941 he intensified his attempts to make the Wehrmacht the tool of National Socialist ideology. It is the purpose of this study to trace Hitler's evolving program of using the military to accomplish his political ends.

The Social Views Of Dwight L. Moody And Their Relation To The Workingman Of 1860-1900, Myron Raymond Chartier

This evaluation is complicated for two basic reasons. The amount of subjectivity that enters into one's assessment always plagues any attempt on the part of the historian to be objective; however, it seems that religious phenomenon is even more difficult to evaluate honestly. This writer believes that he has no "axes to grind" in regard to Moody and the workingman. The record of history has been the primary interest.

The story of the Mennonites of Kansas during World War I has never been told. San Martín: One Hundred Years Of Historiography, Katharine Ferris Nutt

Fort Hays Studies Series

It is the opinion of this writer that the answer to the riddle of San Martín may better be sought in his relations with Lord Cochrane than in those with Simon Bolívar and the Quayaquil controversy, an avenue which historians have for years followed without arriving at any satisfactory conclusion. It is this writer's purpose to show that the misunderstandings regarding San Martín's character and his place in history stem from a very logical and comprehensible situation.
