The daughter of a Unionist family, Juliette married a supporter of the South who served in the Confederate Army.

This project was a requirement for a folk studies class at Western Kentucky University. Includes colored illustrations and a transcript of an interview done with Doyle's maternal grandmother Beatrice Firkin.
