A large portion of the collection contains documents related to the management of the Pennsylvania German Society. It includes correspondence from fellow Directors, Committee Chairs, Society members, authors and researchers; as well as memos, minutes, and financial records from various Society committees. A portion of the Society- related papers include documents, pamphlets and sources relating to Society events, issues, and special interests.

Smaller portions of the collection have personal scrapbooks, photos, and postcards of Weiser's travels in Europe, the United States, and his time at Gettysburg College. Some others are related to the Lutheran church and early German immigrant culture. …

The official papers of the Schmucker Bicentennial Committee reside in the Archives at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. This collection at the college contains the material retained by Gettysburg College representatives to the committee and internal college documents relating to the program events compiled by the Public Relations Office and the Office of Planned Giving. Of special interest is a review of a research effort conducted within the Office of College Relations to identify the descendants of Samuel Schmucker in order to invite them to the college for the birthday event. This collection consists of correspondence and college papers from Donna Osterhoudt Schaper, who graduated from Gettysburg College in 1969. As a student, she was part of the student protest movement against the Vietnam War, and she interned for the College Chapel before attending the Lutheran Theological Seminary.

Robert W. Koons graduated from Gettysburg College in 1943 with an A.B. in English, earned a B.D. from Gettysburg Lutheran Theological Seminary in 1946 and a D.D. from Susquehanna University in 1958. While a student at Gettysburg College he served at various times as President of the Student Christian Association, Literary Editor of the Mercury, Corresponding Secretary of the Pre-Ministerial Association and Treasurer of Delta Phi Alpha and was a member of various other campus organizations. He received Highest Class Honors in his Freshman and Junior years and Class Honors in his sophomore year.

The Samuel Simon Schmucker collection is arranged into four series: I. Correspondence of Samuel Simon Schmucker (S.S.), II. Other Schmucker Correspondence, III. Publications and Papers, and IV. Sermons. Series I is primarily comprised of correspondence written by Schmucker. Series II is composed of correspondence written by other Schmucker family members. Series III includes diaries written by Schmucker, a Schmucker family genealogy, lecture notes by Schmucker, a certificate of reimbursement for damage to Gettysburg College during the Civil War, clippings, and an article about Schmucker. Series IV contains the original sermons written by Schmucker.
