Letter, 21 October 1865, written to “Mon Ami" by Edward Allen, Camp Nelson, Kentucky, advising that he is sending her a lady’s tool chest which he crafted from woods from the rocky cliffs of Kentucky, “the dark and bloody ground” of tradition.
