The purpose of this study is to see how well Unamuno succeeded in carrying out these two central themes, first, intimately, in his own character; second, remotely, in the character of his reader; and third, creatively, in the characters of his novels.

The Poetry Of Rafael Alberto Arrieta, William W. Moseley May 1950

The Poetry Of Rafael Alberto Arrieta, William W. Moseley

Spanish and Portuguese ETDs

The most formative years of his life were spent while Modernism dominated the world of poetry. Yet Arrieta had the literary integrity to express his own personality in spite of the prevailing influences.

A collection of short stories joined together by a surrounding narrative or framework is recognized as a very ancient type of fiction. An Analysis Of Romain Rolland, Mildred Lagomarsino Jan 1950

An Analysis Of Romain Rolland, Mildred Lagomarsino

University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations

The first fifty years of Romain Rolland’s life were spent in inconspicuous and almost solitary labors. From then on this name became a storm center of European discussion

The significance of his life’s work becomes plain only when it is contemplated as a whole. It was slowly produced, for it had to encounter great dangers; it was a gradual revelation, tardily consummated. The foundations of this splendid structure were deeply dug in the firm ground of knowledge, and were laid upon the hidden masonry of years spent in isolation. Owing to the strength of its foundations, to the solidity of …
