Jean-Baptiste Debret’S Return Of The Negro Hunters, The Brazilian Roça, And The Interstices Of Empire, Amy J. Buono Oct 2007

Jean-Baptiste Debret’S Return Of The Negro Hunters, The Brazilian Roça, And The Interstices Of Empire, Amy J. Buono

Art Faculty Books and Book Chapters

Each box has various illustrations corresponding to its theme. I wanted these boxes to create a dialogue about what I believe the general public knows and does not know aboutAfrica.

I read various African novels and recognized multiple themes that were discussed frequently throughout each novel. …

Jerry Bywaters: Lone Star Printmaker, Ellen Buie Niewyk

eBooks

Jerry Bywaters – Lone Star Printmaker chronicles the printmaking career of Texas regionalist artist Jerry Bywaters (1906 – 1989). In 1935, Bywaters began recording the prints he made, primarily lithographs, when he noted ‘“Gargantua” First litho made (1935)’ on the first page of his print notebook. Bywaters played a major role in establishing the Texas …
