Edited by Chicago-based cartoonist Jay Lynch, Bijou Funnies featured work by the core group of Lynch, Skip Williamson, Robert Crumb, and Jay Kinney, as well as Art Spiegelman, Gilbert Shelton, Justin Green, and Kim Deitch. Lovecraft issue, though Spain Rodriguez does a story of his own instead of one of Lovecraft's. Richard Corben illustrates the first story, Lovecraft's "The Rats in the Walls," which is about a man who returns to his ancestral home only to be driven mad by his family's curse. Charles Dallas illustrates a waking nightmare in Lovecraft's poem, "To a Dreamer," while Larry Todd takes on Lovecraft's "The Shadow from the Abyss," in which a man's mind is transposed with another mind …

Written by frequent Corben collaborator Jan Strnad this is one of the pair's true classics. … This early underground comix science fiction cross-over was very popular, going through several printings. Scrapbooks

Betty Wiseman graduated from Belmont College and began teaching health and physical education in 1966. She was the founder and coach of the Belmont women’s basketball team, the Rebelettes (now Bruins), in 1968. At the time, it was one of the first women’s collegiate teams in the southeast. She was inducted into the Belmont Athletics Hall of Fame in 1981. She was also inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2004. Wiseman coached the women’s team for 16 years (1968-1984) before moving into athletic administration at Belmont. She served as Assistant Athletics Director until her retirement in 2013. …
