The Instructional Resource Corporation’s series of educational slides cover a variety of topics around world history. The collection covers Western Civilization, World History, and American History, which includes ancient to modern historical topics. There are three boxes of 35mm slides, each arranged by historical category. The lids of the boxes have color coded diagrams to the slides.

The collection was created with the intent to assist instructors in adding images to course lectures. Each box contains over a thousand slides that are then separated into categories or topics that are alphabetized. The categories are indexed with instructions and summaries on …

Dr. John E. Dolin (1931-2015) was a Professor Emeritus of Art at Marshall University. Dr. Dolin's collection is made up of a variety of materials. The majority of this collection contains faculty and student correspondence, academic papers (both his and his students), and numerous class materials such as lecture notes, syllabi, and tests. Other materials in the collection relate to various organizations that he was involved in while at Marshall University including, Boys Club and The College Personnel Committee. This collection consists of correspondence, photographs, a scrapbook, clippings, and ephemera related to Marion Vest Fors' murals which were painted in the James E. Morrow Library as part of the centennial celebration of Marshall College. The murals were removed for remodeling circa 1966 and remounted in 2005. The scrapbook was created by Fors about her creation of the mural to justify its emergence from storage and reuse in the Morrow Library. Also included in the collection are paintbrushes used in the painting of the murals.

This study focuses on using aesthetics in the art education curriculum. It also suggests a variety of approaches through which art educators may implement aesthetics in the classroom. Discussions of aesthetics were found in writings of Plato and Aristotle and continue to this day. Philosophers have defined aesthetics as a theory of the beautiful. Educators took this idea a step further in developing curricula and methods of educating that include aesthetics. This study examines the use of writing in art education and its possibilities for use in the four disciplines of DBAE. Teacher attitudes and associated behaviors with regard to these and related topics are assessed. It was expected that some teachers would favor a creativity- or art production-centered approach to the teaching of art over DBAE. Because writing can be viewed as an academic mode of learning, some apprehension was also expected from those who favor creativity and art production.
