Situated Cultural Differences: A Tool For Analyzing Cross-Cultural Co-Creation, Tejas Dhadphale

Industrial Design Publications

Designers in the global era are increasingly challenged to design for diverse cultural context. Both ethnographic and participatory design research methods are integral for conducting cultural inquiries. Co-creation offers an interactive setting for researcher to gain meaningful insights into the tacit and latent aspects of culture. Industrial Design Publications

Design education across design disciplines prioritizes project-based courses to support student learning about design processes and strategies (Eastman, Newstetter, & McCracken, 1999; Smith, Sheppard, Johnson, & Johnson, 2005). Success in teaching these courses relies on the ability of instructors to mentor and guide students' design paths, allowing students some freedom to determine design decisions on their own, while facilitating a structure where they can learn successful design strategies.

Consumers' Post-Adoption Of M-Services: Interest In Future M-Services Based On Consumer Evaluations Of Current M-Services, Joohyung Park, Whitney Snell, Sejin Ha, Te-Lin Chung

Apparel, Events and Hospitality Management Publications

While consumers’ adoption of new technology has received substantial interest from researchers, the mechanism of consumers’ post-adoption evaluation derived from continued use of m-services and its impact on their interest in upcoming m-services are yet to be explored. Drawing on the appraisal → emotional response → coping framework, this study investigates 1) how utilitarian and hedonic values derived from consumers’ basic and innovative benefits of m-services influence their post-adoption satisfaction with current m-services and 2) the impact of post-adoption satisfaction on interest in future m-services in the context of young consumers’ mobile phone use. The results support all the hypothesized relationships except ...
