I Want To Go To Church, Ella Burch
I Want To Go To Church, Ella Burch
English Student Projects
A creative writing piece used to describe the beginning of a journey back to faith for someone who has questioned the providing nature of God. A reminder of how being in a holy place with the simple intention of praying can mean as much as spreading the gospel on a distant shore.

Front Pew Reflections: Redefining The Role Of Women And Solid Theology In The Church, Yanna Telyeten
Williams Honors College, Honors Research Projects
If we are honest, the modern Evangelical Church has struggled to find a clear answer on what the Bible says about the role of women. English Theses & Dissertations
A combination of memoir, reportage, and opinion writing, Intersexion explores the realities of growing up intersex while also examining the conservative mindset that caused the narrator—a happily married suburban mother—to lose a tenure-track position at a Christian university for being unwilling to label Danny’s intersex condition as “repugnant” and “offensive to God.”

They were laughing at me, I knew it. I brushed the sweat off of my brow and looked forward at the tall looming steeple that had haunted my dreams for the better part of a year. I could see their false angelic faces staring back at me, mocking me, waiting to see if I would complete my mission. ~excerpt from short story

Manuscripts
Approaching the main traveled road, we turned a corner and saw, over the hill, the white shiningness of the country church. It nestled cosily in a slight hollow, gleaming brightly against the somber background of a cemetery so old that the whiteness and blackness of polished stones had merged into a general greenness, highlighted by two or three new white stones.
