The Dean of Men reported to the Director of Student Services (and Registrar) and was later part of the Student Affairs Office. The dean was responsible for student housing and discipline and oversaw the many male student groups on campus including fraternities. There was also a Dean of Women who had similar responsibilities for female students. Part of the role of Dean of Men was to also chair the University of Maine Health Service and Athletic Board. Includes organizational election records, board meeting minutes, annual meeting records, voters guides, school guides as well as the records collected by a representative of the League of Women Voters of Maine while attending and observing public meetings of local municipal organizations.
