The Young Lady's Consent, Christopher O. Kidder
The Young Lady's Consent, Christopher O. Kidder
University of New Orleans Theses and Dissertations
This play is a translation and adaptation of a Spanish play originally written in 1806 by Leandro Fernández de Moratín, El sí de las niñas. Because that play was not available to English-speaking actors, I translated the work directly from the original Spanish. The resulting manuscript was not the finished product of this play, however. Through a series of workshops with actors trained in a physical method of theatre I devised in order to modernize classic works to a more modern audience's tastes, the script morphed and grew into the play that follows.

Pamela On Directing Three The Hard Way: An Exploration Of Theatrical And Communicative Processes., Pamela S. Adolphi
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The direction of the play Three the Hard Way by Linda Eisenstein achieved the playwright's intent and the super objective of the play. The application of theatrical and communicative processes facilitated the direction of the desired metacommunicatations associated with the family's dynamics by expressing the struggles and perceptions associated with the family and their relationships. The implementation of the director's prompt book illustrates the use of proxemics in creating picturizations for the stage. In addition, the exploration of the directing process and the progression of the production are examined in daily journal entries. The successes of the directorial approach and …

Five Women Wearing The Same Dress, November 29 – December 8, 2007, Theatre Sheridan
Five Women Wearing The Same Dress, November 29 – December 8, 2007, Theatre Sheridan
Theatre Sheridan Productions
The setting is a large estate in Knoxville, Tennessee. A group of five widely different bridesmaids hide out in the bride’s bedroom, taking refuge from the ostentatious wedding reception below – each for her own very personal reasons. Over the course of the afternoon. These women discover that they share much more than the identical (and hideous) outfits they wear. Academy Award-winning playwright Alan Ball (American Beauty, Six Feet Under) wrote this irreverent, wickedly funny, and ultimately touching comedy celebrating the indomitable female spirit.

It is the middle of a scorching drought in mid-1930s Texas. Despite her widower father’s and two brothers’ positive encouragement, Lizzy Curry begins to realize that she is becoming a hopeless old maid. Even the town Sheriff, for whom she harbours a secret longing, keeps a guarded distance. It is only when a charismatic self-proclaimed rainmaker names Starbuck enters the town and starts wooing her that Lizzie realizes her dismal life may take an unexpected turn.
Based on the play The Rainmaker by N. Richard Nash. Music by Harvey Schmidt, lyrics by Tom Jones, book by N. Richard Nash.

Defining The Spiritual Aspects In The Pure Dance Of Bharata Natyam, Bevin Stark
Defining The Spiritual Aspects In The Pure Dance Of Bharata Natyam, Bevin Stark
MALS Final Projects, 1995-2019
Bharata natyam is herald as a sacred art. The goal of all traditional Indian arts is to evoke rasa (a tasting of spiritual bliss) in the artist as well as the spectator. I have personally experienced a spiritual power while performing and practicing this ancient dance form. Bharata natya has two main aspects to its dance presentation: natya (story-telling), and nrtta (pure dance technique). The natya portion clearly nurtures devotional feelings and religious contemplation by retelling stories of the gods, of the great Hindu epics and of myths. This study focuses on the subtle role that the nrtta portion of …

Urinetown, Otterbein University
Urinetown, Otterbein University
2007-2008 Season
One of the most uproariously funny musicals in recent years, Urinetown is a tale of greed, corruption, love, and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government enforced ban on private toilets.
