The overall scope of this research is to define and explain the different styles of African American English. What are they and how do they affect the American society? The means by which many African Americans communicate is different from what American deems as standard American English (SAE). To this date, the voice of Black America has been categorizes as Black Dialect, African American Vernacular English, and Black English. Qualitative And Quantitative Of Land-Use Managers' Attitudes Towards Environmental Justice, David O. Padgett, Nikitah O. Imani

Black Studies Faculty Publications

On 11 February 1994, President Clinton signed Executive Order 12898 ‘‘Federal Actions to Address Environmental Justice in Minority Populations and Low-Income Populations.’’ Under the order, 17 federal agencies and offices are required to compile information about the race, national origin, and income of populations in close proximity to federal facilities that may have a significant effect upon ecosystem and human health. The goal is to protect historically disenfranchised groups from being disproportionately impacted by negative externalities associated with federal actions.

This study examines the outcome of efforts to educate federal land-use managers about their roles in implementing the Executive Order …

Gilbert F. Casellas (L '77) is a lawyer and businessman. He is Chairman of OMNITRU, a Washington, D.C. area investment and consulting firm, a director of Prudential Financial, trustee of the University of Pennsylvania, and advisor to Toyota Motor North America and Comcast Corporation. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the American Law Institute. From 1994 to 1998 he served as chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
