When the proper correlation is made, then one is ready to address the questions and concerns regarding …

Evangelical Christianity And The Philosophy Of Interreligious Dialogue, Michael S. Jones

SOR Faculty Publications and Presentations

In this essay, the author, an evangelical Christian, seeks to analyze the arguments for and against evangelical participation in interreligious dialogue. He finds that, while the arguments against evangelical participation in dialogue suggest some important boundaries for dialogue, they do not completely militate against it. Conversely, the arguments for dialogue form a persuasive case for evangelical participation

Vanity In Human Life-A Comparative Study Of The Role Of Hebel In Qoheleth And Wu In The Philosophical Thought Of Wang Bi, Samuel Hsiao-Yung Liu May 1999

Vanity In Human Life-A Comparative Study Of The Role Of Hebel In Qoheleth And Wu In The Philosophical Thought Of Wang Bi, Samuel Hsiao-Yung Liu

Master of Sacred Theology Thesis

The aim of this study is to increase the mutual understanding between the Old Testament and ancient Chinese thought. The methodology is both cross-cultural and exegetical. Without the effort of exegesis, an understanding of hebel would be colored by one's own assumptions and prejudices. The same thing is true of ancient Chinese philosophy. The concept of wu was first discussed not by Wang Bi but by Lao Zia (in about the fifth century B.C.E.), the founder of Daoism. A$ a re-interpreter of wu, Wang-Bi developed the original meaning of Lao Zi and increased a new spirit for Daoism, Confucianism and …

Adventists, people of the Book? Perhaps “peoples” of the Book would be more appropriate, because different approaches to the Bible have been introduced in Adventism that significantly affect belief and lifestyle. The Bible still reads the same; the conflict comes in how it is interpreted and applied.
