In her three years at the University of Maine, Trish Roberts has posted an impressive 62-23 (.729) record while winning the North Atlantic Conference regular season title all three years and the NAC Championship the past two years.

Prior to Maine, Roberts served assistant coaching stints at the University of North Carolina, University of Illinois and Central Michigan.

The 1991-92 season will present new challenges for both the men’s and women’s teams. There are some new and powerful dual meet opponents to confront, such as the University of Connecticut. Most importantly, there is a new season-ending event, the North Atlantic Conference Championships, in addition to the New England Championships. It is the second season the Black Bears will compete in the NAC, but it is the first time the championship is scheduled at the end of the season. The University of Maine softball team looks at 1991 as the year of commitment and determination to go above and beyond for the dverall success of the team. The Black Bears’ true test is at the plate. Last year, the team overall batting average was .217. Offensively, the team is working hard in preparing for the ’91 season.
