This collection contains correspondence, financial and legal documents, notes, newspaper clippings, photographs, and miscellaneous printed materials belonging to the Huffman-Quertermous family of Arkansas County, Arkansas. Mary C. Huffman Young, of New Bloomfield, Missouri, corresponded with her sisters Ellen, Jannie, and Annie, and her brother A.L. Huffman of Arkansas County, Arkansas. Mary Huffman Young's letters, describing farming and health in the late nineteenth century, comprise the bulk of the correspondence in this collection

Erico Verissimo's O Tempo e o Vento has long been considered his masterpiece more, it would seem, by dint of its quantity than its quality, since relatively little research has been done on this novel. The attitudes reflected in O Tempo e o Vento concerning the relationship of time and space and man's affiliation thereto have been previously ignored and only through a structuralist analysis of this novel have these determinations been discovered.

Jack Kleinsinger presents Highlights in Jazz. The concert was held at Hunter College Playhouse Monday, December 17th, 1973 at 8:00pm. Jack served as producer and master of ceremonies for the monthly series of concerts. Artists for the Accent on Percussion concert included Ray Barretto, Roy Haynes, Jaki Byard, Robin Kenyatta, Lew Soloff, Richard Davis, and Stella Marrs. Special guests: Richard Wyands and Albert Heath.

The issue of December 14, 1974 had an article about curriculum reform, an exhibition at Woods-Gerry and an essay about four photographs. Also included was an article about the Sculpture and Ceramic departments. A recipe, comics, letters to the editor and events for RISD students were also mentioned.

During his interview, Forrest Atkinson reminisces about growing up on a farm in Cabell County, West Virginia. His father was a tobacco farmer and timber cutter. He focuses on food preservation processes and home entertainment, including music and books. He also focuses on changes in technology during his lifetime. In the audio clip provided, Mr. Atkinson discusses raising and selling tobacco.

RISD press was a student newspaper published weekly in the early 1970s, a self-described attempt at consolidating all the information outlets of the school, including the previous student newspaper, Montage. The issue of December 7, 1973 had an article with John Udvardy who was in charge of RISD Foundation Studies. There also were articles about the ceramics department with photos of students working and the painting department and students work. Also there was a short article about RISD housing and the need for student feedback. A recipe, photos, comics and events for RISD students were also in this issue.
