The Justification of Jehan Petit was composed as an attempt to explain the murder in 1407 of Louis, duke of Orleans, by his cousin John the Fearless, duke of Burgundy. The murder was politically necessary for John to be able to dominate the French government while the king, Charles VI, was mad.

Petit attempted to prove that the duke of Orleans had been a tyrant, and that the murder was justifiable as tyrannicide. The validity of Petit’s theory demanded that he be able to prove Louis' tyranny. In so doing, he departed radically from the medieval concept of a tyrant …

In this thesis an attempt has been made to discuss and clarify some aspects of piano group instruction and individual piano teaching. The writer has tried to examine the relative advantages and goals of each and to point out some of their pitfalls and problems. An attempt has been made to emphasize the tremendously important role which the teacher plays in group sessions, as well individual lessons. During the seventeenth century, a legend grew among the French which claims that during the reign of Charles V of France, a group of industrious and daring sailors of Normandy sailed to northwest Africa and then into the unknown waters of West Africa. By 1383 these Normans had reached the Gold Coast and had established a flourishing trade with the people there.
