The Period of. Pietism, from approximately 1670 to approximately 1750, is one of the areas in the history or the Lutheran Church which has not received much consideration in the English language. Particularly is this true 1n regard to the effects of Pietism upon the traditional worship practice of the Lutheran Church. Aside from brief references which generally attribute considerable liturgical deterioration to the Pietistic Period, not much appears on this subject in the English language.
