Black male counselors working in the United States often face a unique set of challenges as the history of racism, discrimination, and prejudice that has plagued the United States also occurs in therapeutic spaces. Recent research has brought awareness to the existence of client-initiated microaggressions in therapy, but training on how to adequately address those microaggressions is lacking. Despite years of research and government funding, the health of AA continues to decline, and a variety of factors intermingle to produce this effect. Disproportionality and lack of representation of African American females in educational leadership roles constitute a significant issue. The present study focused on exploring the experiences of female African American educators when seeking leadership positions in elementary and secondary education. The prevalence of mass school shootings in K–12 classrooms has ignited ongoing conversations about arming teachers in school settings to prevent future tragedies and provide a safe learning environment for students. This research study aimed to understand Black parents’ perception of armed teachers in school settings. Critical race theory provided the framework to explore the impact of race and implicit bias on teacher–student social interactions when policies permit teachers to carry firearms. The purpose of this study was to analyze the definition and perception of respect and law enforcement by an African American male and to determine if Goffman’s dramaturgical model is sufficient to explain the social acceptance respect phenomena. Micro-sociological assessments of everyday social interactions are often based on dramaturgy, a sociological perspective. Bullying in the U.S. workplace is an ongoing issue that transcends industry boundaries due to perpetrators’ ineffectiveness in viewing all coworkers as equals. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) provides a 2-year reprieve from deportation and a work permit for eligible undocumented childhood arrivals. It does not provide a pathway to citizenship or confer rights or protections enjoyed by those with permanent legal status leaving recipients in a constant state of legal limbo. AbstractHispanic women are among the ethnic groups with higher cervical cancer rates in the United States. This mixed-method study was conducted to explore perceived barriers and self-efficacy-related factors to cervical cancer screening in foreign-born Hispanic women in Florida. The theory of planned behavior was applied to determine if behavioral intentions influence access to cervical cancer screening.
