Using Bim (Building Information Modeling) To Vizualize And Share Archaeological Data At Tall Hisban, Jordan, Ariel Solis, Rhonda Root

Faculty Publications

Today, the field of archaeology is seeking to expand beyond the traditional sharing of information through printed books and archaeological publications, and be more relevant by using various new technologies, such as 3-D visualization, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and interactive media. We seek to continue to advance research that is being done in these area. At Tall Hisban, Jordan (the first Madaba Plains Project archaeological site), many of these technologies are being used. The preachers of the twenty-first century who make the deepest impact will be preachers committed to the homiletical example of Jesus. Like Jesus, they will be God’s story and become God’s storyteller. They will utilize the art of storytelling to make God’s truth come alive by capturing the imagination of people in such a way that they have a dynamic experience with Him who is “the Truth.”

Celebration Of Diversity, Katelyn Campbell, S. Joseph Kidder May 2019

Celebration Of Diversity, Katelyn Campbell, S. Joseph Kidder

Faculty Publications

Diversity is worth celebrating. It can be incredibly helpful in bringing us together in dialogue, love, and mission. By engaging with our differences, we can not only reach more people effectively for the kingdom of God but also be more united as a church body. When we choose to listen to, dialogue with, and learn from one another, we allow ourselves to be humbled. We cannot be united in our diversity and remain proud of heart. It is a spirit of humility that allows us to truly connect not only with those with whom we agree but also with those …

Eschatologie Et Écologie. Pourquoi Prendre Soin De La Terre Si Tout Va Brûler ?, A. Rahel Wells

Faculty Publications

Keeping Your Spirituality Alive, S. Joseph Kidder, David K. Penno Apr 2019

Keeping Your Spirituality Alive, S. Joseph Kidder, David K. Penno

Faculty Publications

When we think of biblical spirituality, we often limit ourselves to the spiritual practices such as prayer, devotions, fasting, worship, etc. These are certainly all vital components of our spiritual life. But less often do we consider ministry for others as part of our own walk with Jesus. Sometimes we see ministry as an optional part of spirituality, often left to those we perceive as “really spiritual.” But the Word of God indicates that a very important part of our walk with Jesus is our service to His body, the church, and to the lost sheep outside the church.

"Whosoever Will": Embracing Everyone, David K. Penno Mar 2019

"Whosoever Will": Embracing Everyone, David K. Penno

Faculty Publications

"

The Bible clearly calls Christians to minister to, and to invite to discipleship, all persons in the world (Matt. 28:19, 20; Rev. 14:6). This includes persons who have sexual attractions that are outside the biblical design, whether they act on those desires or not. We do not have the option to ignore, reject, or marginalize them (nor should we do this to anyone else; all people are important to God). So the question becomes, how do we make room for everyone?

There are at least three levels of relationship that the church has with persons …

Reflections On The Institutional Church, Denis Fortin Jan 2019

Reflections On The Institutional Church, Denis Fortin

Faculty Publications

It should not come as a surprise to anyone anymore when we say that our denomination is a hierarchical institution. In an earlier article, I argued that the Seventh-day Adventist Church is a hybrid form of episcopalism similar to that of the Methodist Church in the United States. This represents a weakening of our Protestant heritage, meaning that Seventh-day Adventism is in dire need of a major realignment of its ecclesiology and ecclesial practices
