This work explores the significance of objects and material culture. As human beings, we are all attached to materials and objects in some way, connecting them to our life experiences and memories. In this story, the author connects her sentiments to a fish bowl that has followed her throughout most of her life. The narrative tells of the powerful effects a tangible item can bring to our lives, serving as a reminder of perhaps a lifetime of emotion and connection. The author explores human connection to inanimate objects, and the beauty of stories and meanings they hold in our lives.
