Although accessible in a recent German edition (Die Korrespondenz. Heinrich Melchior Mühlenbergs: Aus der Anfangszeit des deutschen Luthertums in Nordamerika. Berlin: Walter de Gruyter, 1986- ), this work is nonetheless a significant contribution to our understanding of the German-speaking element of the 18th century, which will be extraordinarily useful to the general reader as well as to scholars.
