In this paper I propose to defend the thesis that the concept Word of God refers not only to the revelation of God for man’s salvation through the sacred Scriptures, but also to God's continuing revelation -of Himself to man through the spoken Word. In other words, this paper intends, on the one hand, to defend the ultimate authority of the Scriptures against those who equate the concept Word of God so exclusively with the activity of God as to deny any identification of the Word of God with the Scriptures.
