Beethoven's 250th Birthday Celebration (Ode To Joy!), Andrews University

Concerts and Event Programs 2020-2021

The Andrews University Symphony Orchestra (together with the University Singers and vocal soloists Sara Emerson, Julie Karpenko Reid, Charles Reid, and Stephen Zork), aim to celebrate the 250th birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven with a performance of his Symphony No.9 on May 1. The concert will open with a complementary world premiere composition by Andrews University graduate student Kaija Perry.

Andrews University Department of Music presents its Easter Choral concert, entitled "From Darkness to Light, In Thee is Gladness!". Normally our annual Vespers Concert is part of the Andrews University Music Festival, but due to the pandemic we were unable to welcome our high school students to campus this year. As a native of Slovakia, Dr. Kemble has always been inspired by the cultural and mesmerizing aspects of music, especially when it comes to chamber music. A versatile performer, Aleksandra holds flute-teaching positions at Andrew’s University (MI), Indiana’s University of South Bend (IN), Goshen College (IN), and St. Mary’s College (IN) and is the principal flutist of the Elkhart Symphony (IN). Aleksandra received her Master’s Degree from the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland, and her Doctor of Arts Degree in flute performance from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
