The journal of Harmony A. Smith contains both lecture notes from Jefferson Medical College, bound together with journal entries from his trip along the Oregon Trail from May 20^th to July 6^th, 1850. Pages are missing from the notebook – lecture notes begin on p. 22 and end on p. 80, with blank leaves between pp. 69-70, and evidence of paste-ins removed. The Oregon Trail journal begins on p. 29, and ends on p. 80 before the conclusion of the journey to California.
