Leader-Member Exchange In Scripture: Insights From Jesus, Noah, And Abraham, Jennifer Dose

Although much has been written about leadership from a Christian perspective, Christian principles have greater potential to be integrated into the academic research literature than has yet been realized. Leadership theory and practice is one area in which Scripture can contribute significantly, leader-member exchange theory (LMX) being one example. LMX states that leaders have limited personal, social, and organizational resources (e.g., time, energy, personal power); thus, rather than interacting similarly with each follower, leaders have different relationships with different followers. The most common objection to fine tuning arguments for theism is that there are, or might be, multiple universes among which the fundamental physical constants and parameters vary. This essays describes the two main variants of this objection and argues that they both fail.

Portfolio Of Ruth E. Engle Memorial Collection Of Children’S Book Illustration, Murray Library

Friends of Murray Library

Dedicated in April 2004, this Collection of original picture book art by award-winning illustrators was begun with gifts given to Friends of Murray Library in memory of Ruth Engle, a charter member who also served on its Board. New artworks are added to the Collection annually, purchased with gifts from Friends and donors. The illustrations reflect a variety of media, styles, and subjects, and include works by illustrators from Australia, China, Mali, Korea and Russia, as well as the USA.

Visitors are welcome to view the collection during library hours.

History Educator Scholarship

From 1997 to 2003, the Eastern Korinthia Archaeological Survey (EKAS) investigated a 350-km2 region east of the ancient city of Corinth, focusing primarily on the northern Corinthian plain. EKAS developed an interdisciplinary methodology that emphasizes novel applications of geological science, computer-based knowledge systems, and strategies for fieldwork and collaboration among experts. in this article, the research philosophies and methods are presented and their application illustrated with results from the survey. the historical development of one settlement, Kromna in the northern Corinthian plain, is examined in detail to demonstrate the interpretive potential of data collected by these methods.
