The Practical Potential Of Living Authentically, Aaron Minnick
The Practical Potential Of Living Authentically, Aaron Minnick
Senior Honors Projects, 2010-2019
To paraphrase George Orwell, the best books are those that tell us what we already know. Perhaps, then, this thesis will ring most strikingly in the minds of those who have realized a deep dissatisfaction with the universal ethics of the day. Consequently, it is not the final word on the matter, but an exploration of a more practical ethic of living authentically. The paper deals with what I take to be the central question of philosophy: How should I live? It shows, I believe, that the proper vantage point to begin that inquiry can be at all times none …

Cross-Cultural Solutions Volunteer Handbook, Alexa Senio
Senior Honors Projects, 2010-2019
Alexa worked with Cross-Cultural Solutions to design and create a handbook that could prepare volunteers for their experience abroad. By using her personal experience abroad at El Pueblito, an orphanage in Cartago, Costa Rica, Alexa was able to compile resources and information that would be useful for a first-time volunteer to make the most out of their experience and to make sure they are prepared for working with the children. The final product is an interactive PDF handbook and an accompanying classroom activity bank on Pinterest that can be accessed digitally by CCS volunteers worldwide.

Self / Center, Jason J. Anderson
Masters Theses, 2010-2019
The act of photographing myself has had a profound effect on my personal healing after surviving a suicide attempt in the winter of 2008. Coming to the end of my rope after years of trying ex-gay therapy and countless bullying in the workplace and from others left me with a fragmented self that was collapsing. It was through the reawakening and rebuilding of myself that I began to photograph myself as a means of therapy and closure. My work has consistently dealt with the elements of faith and sexuality and the problems that one goes through in attempting to reconcile …
An Insult To Authority: The Jewish Means To A Nazi End, Samuel Joseph Preston Anno Di Stefano
An Insult To Authority: The Jewish Means To A Nazi End, Samuel Joseph Preston Anno Di Stefano
Masters Theses, 2010-2019
The thesis attempts to place smuggling on the Warsaw Ghetto until the Great Deportation into the larger context of economic warfare as a Nazi policy. This largely overlooked aspect of Jewish response provides valuable insights to the larger debate because of the experimental nature of administration in the Government General and its potential impact on determining the course of the Final Solution. The paper alleges that Jewish smuggling was less a form of resistance than an aid in alleviating German responsibility for their captives’ welfare and an effective method of management. Research tools included an abundance of primary documents for …
I Am The Landscape, Aimee George
I Am The Landscape, Aimee George
Masters Theses, 2010-2019
This thesis investigates the ideas and concepts of my photographic works. Ranging from still photography to video, these works convey how external surroundings affect internal states, and show my personal relation to these surroundings, the landscape. The landscape becomes more than just a landscape. The landscape represents me, my feelings, my reactions, and my internal states. The landscape becomes me and I become the landscape. The landscape becomes “the objective mirror of the world and the mirror of the artists’ soul.” i am the landscape.
