This paper purposes to examine the role and impact of the solecisms found in the Apocalypse. Before one can isolate a discussion about solecisms one must first address the issue of the style of Revelation (and, to some extent, that of the NT in general) and the degree to which Semiticisms appear. Thus, though the paper wishes to focus upon solecisms, a rather large portion of the paper will necessarily first address the whole issue of the nature and style of the Greek in Revelation so that a clear understanding of solecisms might emerge.

In response, it is not the intent of the following to address the philosophic skepticism so prevalent in modern biblical scholarship. The purpose of this study is to ascertain what Paul, means by the phrase λοδικὴ λατρεία and what its implications are for the worshiping Christian community. This phrase occurs only once in Paul, but at an important transitional point in the epistle to the Romans (12:1). Nowhere else in the New Testament or the Greek translation of the Old Testament does this phrase appear. In fact the combination logikȇ latreia did not appear in any of the literature or material investigated.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship of the Christology of Hebrews to Hellenistic Jewish thought. Both in Hebrews and in the writings of Alexandrian Judaism intermediary figures play an important part in the relationship of God to the world as creator and as savior. In both writings there is an agent of creation and a mediator of salvation. This paper deals with the Healer Asklepios of Golden Age Greece and the healing miracles preserved in the early Christian Gospel. This present study was motivated by a preliminary exegetical consideration of the healing of the blind man in John 9:1-12. At the time of that initial, study in May, 1964, the author became interested in parallels to this pericope in the healings of Asklepios.
