"This project investigates the image of Spain's Camino de Santiago (The Way of Saint James) from a historical and literary point of view and in light of theories of space. It is postulated that the Camino serves as a dramatic space, a type of theatrical stage that serves as an integral backdrop for the production of many literary pieces throughout time. This stage set, or the image of the Camino, changes with the political and social ambiance of the historical moment.
