The article is devoted to the analysis of views of enlightened thinkers on the state independence. The Maine Press Association Takes A Stand: Promoting Professional Identity In The Nineteenth Century, Stephen Banning

This research sought to examine the Maine Press Association in relation to its motivations, particularly in reference to whether the association members saw themselves as professionals. The only other nineteenth century press association which has been examined for evidence of professional aspirations is the Missouri Press Association, in which it has been found that members were actively seeking to professionalize, modeling themselves after the traditional professions of doctors, lawyers and the clergy. References to journalists as professionals are present at an early point in the Maine Press Association’s history, and the number of references increase within a few years after …

Article 48 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights opens the door for singeing the Covenant by, inter alia, any member State in any of the United Nations specialized agencies. After the membership of Palestine, as a State, in the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization on 31 October 2011, the possibility for Palestine of becoming party to the Covenant is now open. In order to be party to the Covenant, Palestine needs to be prepared. It should launch a process of reforming existing legislation in line with international human rights law, starting with the said Covenant. …

The legal scope of the Terrorism Law and the Information and Electronic Transactions Law in Indonesia is considered as lacking to cover the problem of cybercrime in social media. Aside from literature review, this paper is also supported by data from direct interview with the Head of Counterterrorism Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88 AT) of Indonesian National Police. The data found out that the Terrorism Law is a repressive response towards terrorism crimes that have already occured, but less preventive to future crimes.
