This Senior Scholar project has been an attempt to develop an abstract style of representation. My title, "Realistic Abstraction", seems to be a contradiction, but I am using this terminology to refer to the degree of abstraction that I attempted to reach in my work, where the nonobjective elements are equally as important as the representational elements. I used my prior studies in realistic rendering as a starting point in a quest for a higher degree of abstraction than I had been previously using in my art.
